World plumbing day, Friday 9th March

The World Plumbing Day event at PICAC in Brunswick has become a key date for the Victorian plumbing industry to come together and celebrate the contribution that plumbing makes to society.

The event begins at 9:30am with registrations before the Industry Forum begins at 10am. This year the theme is ‘Participation, Practices, Products and Protection: The four pillars of plumbing’.  Shayne La Combre, Chair of the World Plumbing Council will discuss the Four Pillars of Plumbing initiative being driven by the World Plumbing Council and there will be presentations from further key industry stakeholders.

At 12am the Trade Expo and luncheon will begin where attendees can check out the latest innovations from industry representatives and enjoy an industry lunch.

The World Plumbing Day Apprentice Skills Contest

The World Plumbing Day Apprentice Skills Contest is a firm favourite amongst the World Plumbing Day crowd.  3rd and 4th year apprentices beginning at 6:15am take part in either the plumbing or sprinkler fitting contest and compete through until 2pm.  The winners from each contest take home a Reece voucher plus a cash prize, and the three finalists from each contest become eligible for selection to fly to the US and represent PICAC and Australia at the United Association (UA) International Apprentice Skills Contest.
